Angie hosted the Afternoon Drive weekdays with HOT 97’s DJ Enuff, interviewing top music artists like Jay-Z and Mariah Carey. On June 18, 2014, she resigned from Hot 97 and joined Power 105.1 (WWPR-FM) the next day.

Acting Career

In October 2002, Angie appeared in the film Paid in Full. She also appeared in Video Girl (2011), Generation Um… (2012), and the docu-comedy series This Is Hot 97 (2014). She had small roles in independent hip-hop films such as Blood Is Thicker Than Water and Paper Soldiers.

Music Career

In 1996, Angie was encouraged by her friend KRS-One to try rapping. She appeared on his track “Heartbeat” from the 1997 album I Got Next. After gaining a fan base, she featured on Lil’ Kim’s “Ladies Night Remix” of “Not Tonight” for the Nothing to Lose soundtrack. Angie’s debut album, Up Close and Personal, was released on April 17, 2001, featuring production by DJ Clue, Salaam Remi, Knobody, and Rockwilder, with guest appearances by Jay-Z, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Wyclef Jean, Busta Rhymes, and Kool G. Rap.
